  28. I'm really very pleased with OS/2 C-Kermit 5A(191).  It would have been
  29. very easy for the Columbia folks to rest on their laurels with 5A(190)
  30. and say "okay, there's a working C-Kermit on OS/2, our job is done."
  31. Instead, they have done a lot to take advantage of OS/2's features and
  32. make OS/2 C-Kermit better than the lowest-common-denominator between
  33. OS/2, Unix, and VMS (ie, jump scrolling, full-screen font selection).
  34. Right now, it's in a sort of limbo between VIO and PM, since it won't
  35. run in a totally text OS/2 environment (eg tshell) but isn't really PM
  36. either, but I'm sure that will get worked out eventually.

  38. Here's a possibility for future development:  using the free
  39. InterViews toolkit to make an X-enabled version of C-Kermit
  40. (X-kermit??) for UNIX and a PM-version for OS/2 using the same
  41. codebase.  Maybe?  I don't know if there's a VMS version of InterViews,
  42. though.
